Well, you know me I could be wrong....lol. The Marble Queen is green/white, the jade is pure green, the golden is green/yellow flecks. Here are some pics from google, all the ones with the yellow are in my understanding the golden pothos. I have one pothos that is pure green, its my fav, its called a jade pothos. Lennie...sounds like fun. Are you saying all campgrounds are off limits now? Sheesh! We used to go camping every weekend..we found an 'unknown,' secluded area to set up our little tents. :) The area resembled an island..we named it Cujo Island, after our dog who loved swimming in the Des Plaines/ Kankakee River and play with the beavers in Channahon, IL. We had so much fun. I made breakfast, lunch and dinner on a 1.99 metal grill. Couldn'd do it anymore though. The meals were delicious. We used old wood, not coal brisquits or gas. We do not hunt in the literal sense, but we used to hunt for wildlife..to look at...not harm..sorry. :) Lennie, I have relatives in MI. As a child, we'd visit my aunt, uncle and cousins in Allegan, MI..Ever hear of Allegan? They had a beautiful farm. Think I was 4 or 5 when we first started visiting, that I remember..I also think, browsing large fields of greens initially got me hooked on plants. lol I remember standing in one field w/zillions of berries. I snuck inside, awestruck. Anyway, MI is a beautiful state. Well, at least cities, 'I remember Kalamazoo,' not too far from my aunt and uncles farm. Don't know if it's changed. My aunt and uncle passed away several years ago, but cousins remain in MI. When my uncle was diagnosed with cancer, they sold the farm, then rented. She once confessed how much she missed the farm. Sorry, talk about ranting. lol. Funny, we went from Pothos, to camping to MI. You're lucky you get to travel. Toni

That looks nice! What you described (and showed in the 1st pic) is correct to remove a single unsightly leaf. In time, what's left of its' petiole will fall off of the stem. As a vine, it will naturally grow in length at the tips. When a tip starts to stray out, away from the support pole, you can guide it back down the pole, then back up. Where a petiole connects to the main stem is called a node. If you remove the newest leaf forming at the tip of a vine, it will be forced to make one or more new ones. The most likely place for this to happen would be at a node where a leaf was previously removed. The position where there is no natural light is concerning. Unless you have bright fluorescent lights on for at least 8 hours per day, your plant will likely decline in health. Seeing the inner pot inside the outer pot, it would also be good for you to know that your plant could become ill, from its' roots rotting, if water fills up/stays in the outer pot. For that reason, if possible, it would be healthiest for your plant to be taken to a shower or sink for a drink, then placed back in the outer pot when it's finished dripping.

I ordered three GCs a couple weeks ago and can't wait to get them in the ground. I've been growing a few other Austins here in Michigan. Jude the Obscure, Pat Austin, Bishop's Castle, and William Shakespeare 2000. I'm quite a novice, but have had success in Michigan planting bare root with either Austin's Rootgrow that contains mycorrhizal fungi or Espoma's Bio-tone® Starter Plus which is an all natural plant food enhanced with biostimulants, beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae. These must be in direct contact with the root to maximize effectiveness at planting. So planting bare root is a great way to go when using this approach. The theory is the fungi tap back into the soil to draw massive quantities of minerals and nutrients, mainly phosphorus, which a Rose desperately requires to bloom. I follow a regular schedule of Bayer All-in-One (3x per season), Rose Tone(3x per season), and Alaska® Fish Emulsion(4x per year). I know I contradict my otherwise organic approach by using the All-in-One, but I'm not a sprayer kind of guy. Someone told me that the Mycorrhizae improve plant growth and help the root system be more resistant to soil borne diseases. The roots give the Mycorrhizae sugars in exchange. They supposedly help improve performance for less-than-perfect soil, watering, and fertilizing. Again, I'm a novice. Very much so, but so far, this has worked for me.
