Agree any local feed and farm or garden center can sell you good corn fertilizers. There are many made especially for growing corn since its needs are somewhat unique. Timing of applications is also crucial with corn as it is fed at seperate times as it reaches specific growth stages. Your Montana State Ag Extension Service website has lots of information available on growing corn in Montana and gardening in general and your local county extension office probably does too so be sure to check out all those resources. I used Miracle Gro Moisture Control Organic Soil (I bought a big bag at Costco and used it for other plants, so it is what I had here). The pot does have some drainage holes on the sides and drains out into a saucer shapped edge. I rarely (if ever) water it to the point where water comes out of the drainage spots though. When I repotted the plant the soil was very moist. The roots didn't look alarming, but to be honest, I don't exactly know what I am looking for. I have been encouraged to see some small new growth on it, but want to be sure I'm doing the right thing to let that new growth have a chance. I also don't want to throw away a viable plant, but if there is no hope, I will move on.

I didn’t think it was a match for Alternaria either, pretty close, but these are very light surface scars. I did have some tomatoes crack in addition to the cracking in the photo. Thanks! I’ll treat the plants for stink bugs and keep my fingers crossed.

think I found it. At first I thought it was cork, but then I found this Embossed linoleum with metallic accents bottom left. Random chipstone effect. this one has it too. bottom row, 2nd from left.
