I wouldn't for a variety of reasons, including any spray that might drift over to your lovely blueberries and kill them dead as a doornail. Why not, instead, scalp the grass down, lay down landscaping cloth, then mulch with bark mulch to keep the grass at bay? You can even put up bender board around the blueberries to keep a physical barrier up, to help keep the grass out from under your blueberries?

Use POST in and around blueberry plants..I have used it for 2 years now and have zero damage.

Glyphosate ON blueberry bushes = damaged/dead bushes. Glyphosate NEAR blueberry bushes = dead weeds.

But, then the cautions come in. If you spray, you have to be very careful there is no drift that gets on the bushes--cover them with a plastic garbage sack or plastic dam while spraying, wipe the herbicide on the grass with a sponge or soaked glove, etc. so that there are no fine airborne droplets that can drift & you pay close attention that your hand doesn't wander and touch the bushes.

Surest way not to get any on the bushes is to go the mulch route as suggested.

I apply glyphosate with a small paintbrush in iffy areas like that using a higher concentration than directed and making sure anything that's treated can't possibly touch a blueberry bush or have the possibility of being stepped upon.

Goodness sake fruit nuts move on up to a red weeder. It is a hockey stick type applicator tool that puts the herbicide where you want it. No spray and no drift. Spray this stuff on the side walk or drive but not near fruit bushes and trees!!!!! By the way my red weeder must be 20 years old. Herbicides and guns are killers that need to be used with common sense for safety.

velpar works as a pre emergent in a non crop year. sinbar just works on grass in a non crop year. post is only for grass and can be applied when the grass is 3-4 inches once in a cropping year. glyphosate I only apply directly (Brush)after harvest. I have about 4 ac of low bush blue berries and go to classes put on by U of Maine every year. After 15 years I am still the newbie. I have moved from 500 lbs. per ac to 4800 lbs per ac. The old timers say that timming is everything. If you need to apply tuseday may 13 th at 2:30 at 68 degrees you best be on the tractor. Maybe that is why they get 10000- 12000 lbs per ac. When I learn all this I will have my great grand children pick me up at the nursing home and take me home to spray.
