My Boston Ferns, because I always kill ferns and they aren't doing so great outside.

I have just been looking for a regular old plain jane (healthy!) Pothos and am having trouble finding one.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?

The Hoya I keep in the window of my upstairs bathroom, because it's pretty even if it NEVER blooms. ;-)

My dracaena janet craig. She just keeps on ticking.

My white bird of paradise. Just looks ratty. But can't bring myself to throw it out.

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why? Phal Summer My jade. I prune and prune but it still just looks weird. Doing fine, but strange looking.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
Its a toss up. Either yucca aloifolia or a good sized dracaena draco. Just love the way monocots grow.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?

Dracaenas. I'm just a big nerd, they fascinate me!

1. What is your current favorite houseplant? Why?
It's actually one that is "no longer mine". I've a had a spider plant since I was a small child. It has since been divided three times, BLOOMED twenty times (I don't understand how - shouldn't it be only once a year?), and wasn't killed by my mother.

Yeah. My mother has a brown thumb. Successfully killed air plants. I on the other hand, have never killed a plant in my life. Well, apparently, we both touched this one, causing a quantum superposition of states, because it became a monster, and took over my childhood room, and wrapped tendrils around my desk chair from five feet away. It's still at my mother's house, and still refuses to die.

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
I have a plant that looks somewhat boring and that I haven't identified. I would have said my dying (likely already dead) dendrobium, but I like it and pity it for being killed by Walmart (found it roughed up and out of its pot and medium, bare-root in a dark tray. Goooo Walmart!).

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why?
Perhaps the dendrobium. Maybe it would be a much cooler way to die.....despite the temperature pun.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
Ylang ylang. Not happening anytime soon, so any tropical fruit that germinates :0

5. What plant can't you get enough of?
My coffee plant(s). They were struggling. They are fighters.

1. What is your current favorite houseplant? Why?
I have this purple guava that I got from Logee's. I got it because I wanted to see if I could get it to fruit, but it's actually a gorgeous plant. Purple-tinged leaves and stems, upright but kind of twisted habit. Flowers and fruit would totally be a bonus.

And I have an odontoglossum that we call "the happy orchid" because it blooms like crazy 2-3 times a year. An anniversary present from my wife years ago, so it has sentimental value too.

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
I have a breynia disticha nana (miniature snow bush). I wanted it so much because I love snowbushes but they're so big...this one just kind of looks ratty all the time, though.

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why?
I have the saddest-looking goldfish plant. I know, you're thinking, this guy has an orchid that blooms like crazy and he can't take care of a goldfish plant? But there you are.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
I think I might have to ask someone to get me a cutting of one of those exotic plumerias for my birthday.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?
Hard one--I'm a dilettante. First it was fuchsias, then gesneriads, then it was hibiscus, and who can say what's next?

1. Dypsis pembana palm--"Pemba palm". Fast growing even indoors, rare, has not attracted bugs, tolerates the light under my skylight quite well. Will eventually have to be moved to the greenhouse though when it outgrows the space.

2. Alocasia grandis loweii because it attracts mealybugs. So I trialed a piece outside, and it has survived the winter and come back 2 years in a row, so I planted the BIG one outdoors, no longer a houseplant. Its growing well by the back door in the bromeliad enclave, mealy-free now that it has natural predators to decimate the little buggers.

3. None, because there's pretty much no plant problem that I can't solve before I get that mad, LOL.

4. Hmmmm....well, I already have this plant, but it has never done very well for me for the long term, so I'd have to say a Hoya imbricata that would actually like me and grow well

5. Palms, because they are easy for me to grow for the most part and I appreciate the varied architectural beauty among the different genuses, even if I am not an expert on them all.

Mine is my Amate Schefflera Tree. It is big and beautiful with really huge leaves.

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
My Dracaena Marginata. I can't make it happy no matter what I try. Still dropping leaves at a rapid clip.

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why? An old sickly corn plant I have had for years. It is ratty but I can't bring myself to throw it out (or burn it).

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
I am really wanting a dark pink Plumeria because I don't have one yet.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?
Brugmansia, Plumeria and Jatropha Multifida. I'm addicted to them all.

Angelwing Begonia. It was the only thing putting out leaves during the winter and it's more than doubled in height in the last six months!

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
Spider Plant-it's too big, keeps putting out "babies" and getting into my fishtank! Now there's a strange fungus on the dirt...

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why?
My one and only AV. I know they're a traditional houseplant, but mine can't make up its mind if its dry or wet, and it just wont root or grow or anything. The only thing it ever does is get droopy and the leaves get mushy.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
I want to start magnolias and ginkgos indoors this fall. By the time we can get a new place they should be ready to go outside.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?
Pothos. They're just so easy to grow, and as long as I remember to water them they keep slowly putting out leaves.

Dwarf Orange Jasmine (Murraya paniculata), because it is new for this spring and I'm waiting for the first flowers.

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
A Breynia disticha nana (Dwarf Snowbush), because it sheds a lot of little leaves.

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why?
An Albrizia julibrissin, because it is so leggy and does not grow indoors.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
A unique variegated sansevieria.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?
A Hoya carnosa, because it is in full bloom and scents the evening air with a sweetened dark chocolate fragrance.

I don't know if it's my favorite favorite, but I've been exceptionally fond of my Dieffenbachia 'Tropic Rain' lately. Two years now, and it looks, if anything, better than it did when I bought it. Hard to beat that.

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
My newish Fenestraria rhopalophylla, which looked only so-so when I got it two weeks ago, now manages to look downright pitiful. Probably not going to be with us much longer. (I understand this is not unusual for Fenestraria.)

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? Why?
I've been having an ongoing war with mealybugs on two large Cereus peruvianus that are sentimental favorites of mine. I was talked out of trashing them, but it's temporary: they're now outside. If they don't shape up from being out there, I give up on them. It's been months and months already.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
I don't think I really have a wish list at the moment, since I already kinda have all the plants. A Fenestraria rhopalophylla that wasn't falling to pieces would be up there somewhere, I guess.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why?
At the moment, I'm big into the different varieties of Dracaena deremensis, but there are several genera of plant that I'll buy if I see a variety I don't have already: Dracaena, Aglaonema, Dieffenbachia, Anthurium andreanum, and the thornier, more unpleasant species of Euphorbia, among probably others.

1. What is your current favorite houseplant? Always & forever, my hoya's, any of them, even the ones without the flowers, though I have three that just flowered, and another in the process.

2. What is your least favorite houseplant? Why?
I have a couple sanseveria, snake plants, and I really just don't like them. I just don't see the appeal. I have one (the hahnii **sp.) in a four inch pot that I tried to kill over the winter by not watering at all, and to my surprise, it is still alive, and has a new healthy pup.

3. What plant are you thinking of burning? A couple of mini roses......they are just too picky for inside the house, and since I am not much of an outdoor gardener, I wouldn't mind throwing them into the fire.....lol

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Why?
I have quite a few plants, mostly hoya's and gessie's on my wish list. Hoya's would be my number one plant on my wish list though.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Why? Mine would have to be hoya's. I just took part in my first D. Liddle order, and my first hoya round robin (hoya swap), and I still want more. I won't be satisfied until I have them all. My whole life goal.....lol.....is to own every species of hoya. Whether or not they have flowers, these are my number one favorite plant!! Everyone should have one.

1. African violet "pixie blue". I am into African violets and this one is my favorite.

2. African violet "teeny bopper". Interestingly enough this is also a violet, but my nemesis. It just doesn't grow well for me.

3. Oh I don't have any plants now that I don't like. I got rid of them years ago.

4. African violet "emerald city". It is a chimera and I would love to have one when I have some "mad" money.

1. Current favorite houseplant - my orchid Phaius tankervillae. It's got huge leaves like a coconut palm, it's an orchid but it can handle living in normal potting media, the flowers are beautiful, and it blooms when nothing else does.

2. Least favorite houseplant - dieffenbachia. I knew when I bought it that it would get bare on the bottom, and it did.

3. What plant are you thinking of burning - I don't burn plants. I'm actually pretty scared of fire, I don't even like to light matches. But I will throw a plant in the trash if it's something I'm tired of, it's a common plant AND it is severely infested with bugs. Not worth the risk of infesting the rest of my collection. I threw away a Chlorophyllum 'Fireflash' a few weeks ago once I realized it had thrips and the color in the leaves would never get better.

4. What plant is number one on your wish list? Ming aralia, because they are so pretty. I haven't bought one, though, as they are quite expensive and very finicky about watering.

5. What plant can't you get enough of? Orchids, especially phals. I love the blooms, the range of color and sizes, and the fact that I can get flowers during the winter when nothing blooms outdoors.
