Well this weekend we hope to finish our chicken coops we are making out of scrap wood and windows. Hubby had to take Saturday off as he usually works 6/12hr.

Have 52 windows for a greenhouse
need a couple of doors for chicken coops
need fencing to enclose chickens and backyard for dogs
need cement to do my stepping stone for a patio area

What kind of patterns do you need for your stepping stones?

My Son in law cut a small tree for me last Sunday, and I need to get it cut up and out by the road-but RAIN.
And on and on-Some of those things are hard to do myself.

Did I mention that I need to pull weeds? LOL If they were gone I would have a little more incentive to work on my garden junk.

Number 1 on my list: I need labels to decoupage my metal tv tray. I don't want all vegetable or soup labels but I don't drink wine. And, I don't want to just order a bunch. I'd rather have labels from friends of their favorite things.
I can't think of anything else at the moment. I guess only one item doesn't a list make?

Since we're packing to move I'm trying to not have a project list but I'm so BORED!!!!!Good thing I've packed all my junk and crafts stuff, I'd drag it all out and play.
I must admit I gave in the other day and bought a lamp. But I've already stripped it for parts and have them secreted away in a box. I had to you see, otherwise the lovely space in that box would have been stuffed with paper and that's not efficient. Now it's filled with some neat-o glass pieces. Much better.

I had to laugh at the "pull weeds" list on Nona's list! Me too! That's a never ending task here...and the chickweed will start soon...and it never gives up!

My list:

**"stuff" for my conservatory (that still needs painted)
**faucet handles for flowers
**parts for my "air tank" pig ( I have the body, but that's it so far)
**time to put my new totems together
**a work bench outside to put my creations together (so I won't pile the dining room table up again!)
**neat old furniture to paint for my screen porch

I don't want much, do I? ;-)

First and foremost, I want WARMER WEATHER!! (plus no more SNOW!)...forecast for 3+" this weekend...UGH...it's APRIL & grass is turning green, lilacs, trees & other bushes are buddin' (and I want to uncover my plants!)

GJ SSJ Ideas:

Now projects that DH & I will be working on soon (I hope):
...Arbor made of 2 old doors (to replace a Scotch Pine Tree that died this winter);
...Rock stream (no water) to go down the hill from barrel pond garden at the corner of my house;
...Work on both ends of my garden shed & replace with old doors I rescued & windows;
...Make window box with old windows;
...Dig up area by patio & enlarge it with rock or brick;
...Birdhouses (one with my horseshoe from purplemoon!);

...Oh, boy, summer will be over!!! I better quit...got to plant shop & WEED, MULCH, WEED, MULCH & MULCH forever!!! Now that's what "retirement" is all about, right? Still run out of time! Jeanne S. ... oh, yeah, I'd take a "feel 20 yrs. younger pill" (if you've got an extra!)

Good lord, where to begin ... I want to try my hand at fairy houses so I'm looking for miniature things along with stuff from nature like hunks of birch bark, acorns, seeds, rocks, etc. Being crippled, it is too hard for me to venture out in the woods to find this stuff myself.

I want to do more mosaics this summer so I'm always on the look out for dishes, pottery, stained glass scraps, interesting buttons and old costume jewelry, tiles, etc. I'd love to find a thrift store that would let me have broken knicknacks they'd otherwise throw away that I could incorporate into mosaic pieces or find friends with broken pieces they don't want. If I had the space, I'd love to get a tile saw!

As for bigger projects ... I want my Bob to make me a potting bench for the balcony that I can use as a work area and display area for plants and ... well fairy houses! he-he

My biggest project is to buy a house so I have a yard that I can fill with even more garden junk! lol! Wish me luck!

Projects:
-Dig up the marauding ferns that hide the compost pile and have invaded the adjacent bed and replace them with tall perennials. Then I will decorate the area with glass junk. (Gotta dig ferns before they start to grow, and I give the rizhomes to friends with more space than I have.)
-Mosaic the concrete frog my mom gave me. And then with my new skill move on to the pottery fish which will be trickier.
-Make stuff with all the glass that I keep accumulating. Totems finally especially!
-Find people to give plate flowers to. My family doesn't like them :( Cut more stems and rebar for them.
-See how a flat of hens and chicks and sedums do on the roof of the building I manage.

Junker supply needs/wants:
-Junk jewelry especially if it looks like fish or frog eyes.
-Mosaic stuff I keep wanting to keep the plates whole! Maybe I should mosaic something big with whole plates, lol.
-I always want more glass, but thats a sickness I am beginning to think!
-Materials to make little outdoor buildings. Not sure what that means, but after making the little house for Toomuchglass I want to make more.

Dare I start a list?

I want to build a fairy and gnome village, need to collect more mini pieces for the landscape like little bridges, swings, doors, and of course fairies and gnomes.

Build a bottle tree.

Make a totem for the first time.

Try mosaic for the first time.

Build a memorial garden for my late friend Theo, who was the inspiration for much of my "thinking outside the box" GJ projects. Might try my first hypertufa project for this special little garden. I'd like to make a stone with her name and a few words about her.

Make garden paths, I've got mondo grass that I keep intending to set out along a path. Rocks too, just need to get up and go to make it happen, but not really able. If I can sweet talk my son-in-law ..... maybe a case of beer would work better than the sweet talk ....

Make trellises. Need more cane.

Weed and mulch. Ugh.

Re-pot many of my container plants, and do it creatively.

and then there's the house, which always needs something done ....

I might as well just buy a lottery ticket ..... odds of all this happening are about the same probably LOL ~tenderlee

Hey Susie...What kind of mosaic patterns are you looking for for the stones? I do a lot of stones out of stained glass and if you would like copies of a few patterns I would be happy to send them to you...If you would like them email me with your address and I will send you copies to use...
Wow! It looks like everyone will be very busy this summer. I have so many ideas running through my head that it kept me awake all night last night. I want to makeone of everything! I also have a lot of weeding and planting to do. I no longer have any grass in the front yard. It is all perennials and paths. I have a lot of work to do in there yet and I want to start a new bed on the other side of the yard....and another one in the back of the house. I want to build a screened porch on my studio out of some screen doors that I have and an outhouse potting shed in the back yard. So much work...so little time! But it is all the kind that I love so it won't feel like work.

The song mentions the following subjects: Roses,Couple holding hands, sun,moon, rainbow,shaking hands,babies,graduation hat. I'm asking a lot of myself as a "Newbie". We'll see how it goes. Dream Big and Make it Happen. I'll keep repeating that.

WOW...no wonder we all love GJers...what a hardworking, awesome group with such BIG ideas! After reading thru, I saw lots of things I could have added...clean pond (we lost our fish this yr. even with heater to keep a water spot open)...it is YUCKY!...re-do the fire pit, well, I could go on & on... but Smick, said it all: "But it is all the kind that I love so it won't feel like work." I have ALOT of glass that needs to be used.
Lots of plates to be broken and organized. I think my wetsaw needs a new blade.

The BIGGEST project is my critter garden. I still have not put it together. I need a nice man with a big big big ..... dirt mover to dig up the area. It's soo hard and full of weeds I just couldn't get anything done with a shovel last year. And I have lots of treasures that go in that bed. It all stayed inside last summer.

The junk train has already been here... but things I will be shopping for ANYTHING that will look pretty in my garden! LOL!! More glass. more rusty. I'm always looking for architectural salvage... any parts of old houses and such.

That's way too much to do!!

Need to do: paint potting shed, help DH build a deck by our new used pool.
Want to do: >use found broken concrete to lay a small patio area in front of potting shed (after it's painted) and plant wooly thyme in between.
>Find my box of stained glass pieces (from a stained glass class DH and I took when I turned 30 - now buried somewhere after 2 moves) to try a mosaic - I LOVE the What a Wonderful World idea (can I borrow it?).
>Find a decorative piece of metal wall art that my Dad cut in half for me the summer before last and attach stained glass pieces that I cut in another class (a one afternoon session) - I had the glass but could not think of a way to display it, then I bought the metal piece which my Dad cut for me, but then I could not find the glass. Now I want to find both and attach.
>Permanently attach pvc pipes that DH and I temporarily have attached together to form a windspinner (from a link that someone recommended here) and hang it up.
>Stop my pattern of working on projects in such slow motion that I lose the pieces before I ever complete them.
>Stop coming to this wonderful website because it gives me too many wonderful ideas.
