Blueberries (and other berries) and Miracle gro fertilizer

I just bought a Tophat blueberry plant from Gurney's (it was surprisingly bigger and more lush than I thought it would be for ordering from such a nursery, but that's beside the point). I know blueberries like acidic soil so I bought Miracle Gro fertilizer that you add to water. I planted the blueberry in normal potting soil, it might have been the quicker-draining soil for citrus/cactus, or a mixture of both, I can't remember. Anyway, If I use this fertilizer at half strength, should I be fertilizing every week? If I choose to alternate watering with normal water, will that mess up the soil acidity? I know I won't get berries this year, but I want to be sure that I am not constantly changing the soil aciditiy if I alternate like this.

ANy other tips would be appreciated!!
