I have used K-grow formulation for liquid application before. Primarily on tea roses and annuals. Yes it worked fine. A visitor who saw my roses even remarked how lovely they were and that I must have access to some 'special" fertilizer not available to the general public. How suprized they were when I revealed my secret fertilizer was k-grow. I did find that since the nitrogen source is primarily urea, it takes about 2 weeks after application to see any results. Urea must be broken down into a nitrogen form the plants can use. This product is slower to show any results but the cheaper price justified it for me. Just have a little patience when using it.

Well just wait and see you may not need to do anything! I've found with a healthy organic garden you are pestered by very few pests and diseases! (mother nature has a way of equaling things out! In our favor too if nice veggies or flowers etc. are our desire!).... You're growing: Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs, squash, cantelope, strawberries, and raspberries. Tomatos luckily are bothered by few pests.... most bugs (and animals) don't like them (except a dog I once had.... loved tomatos.... picked them once they were ripe.... very "gingerly" (a retriever type dog.... English Springer Spaniel) off the vine!) Tomatos sometimes get diseases but not usually..... I have with most seedlings though.... tomatos included its good to put a "wrapper" like of aluminum foil on the bottom half of the plant (in the soil) to ward off cut worms..... I've heard this same procedure can help ward off squash vine borer (on cucumbers and melon which you are growing).... Strawberries are usually bothered by birds... use floating row covers to prevent them eating them..... Companion planting is good and not planting the wrong plants together is good (i.e. tomatos and potatos) as per herbs chives are good in any vegetable garden to ward off pests and basil "loves" tomatos..... Don't know much about raspberries and the like but my guess is birds would like to nibble them too.... (row covers! :) ) Cedar mulch also keep away pests and some animals and helps block out weeds.... a "living" mulch is good to block out weeds (shallow rooted so it wont' interfere with other plant roots) and attractive enough so you like it! I like sedum subtarmentosum for this. (It also as all mulches retains inthe soil water)..... Interspersing veggies/herb and flower etc. beds with cover crops.... attractive or other wise helps to enrich soil.... crimson clover looks nice in any bed! :) Herbs and veggies generally in my opinion should be grown together as they help one another grow.... but herbs are welcom in any garden (mainly to keep away) pests..... Alliums decorative or otherwise are always a good choice! :)

I would like to replant them in containers using potting soil, but will I be able to do so when a plant has 1 tomato pretty big growing and flowers and another one has a few small tomatoes and flowers. The other two have just flowers...' Yes, you can transplant now, but best to wait for a few days of rainy weather, or move the containers to mostly shade for a few days after transplant and gradually move them back into part shade to full sun. Make sure they're well watered, you can set up a sprinkler on a timer to water them during the hottest hours of the day. ' but some of them started to dry already and probably from the disease. ' Hmmm. Celebrity is very disease resistant. What is drying? The tips of the leaves, the stems are bending over? What ever else? Need more info here. Generally, a tomato in a container will use at least a gallon of water a day, if it's sunny, windy and hot then you may need two or three gallons of water daily. 'If you give me the ok :) to replant them (I know I have to do it in the evening), when should I use the plant food 15-30-15 that I already bought? ' Evening, shade and overcast weather are all fine for transplanting, get them together and you have a higher chance of success. Transplanting in full sun, on a bright, warm and windy day is going to add a lot of stress to the plants and you too. Gardening should not be stressful for plants or the gardener. Best wisdom is always to learn by looking--your eyes are the expert in your garden. If the plants look droughty it's because they are. Water well the morning of any hot windy day and water again at the end of the day. I use plant food at a fifty percent strength in all my containers, but I don't start using it right away because I've got fertilizer-enhanced soil in them. If the soil is new I don't have to feed for a few months, but if the soil is several months old then I start using the fertilizer after plants put out their first flush of flowers. Many of my containers are older than a year, I take out the top eight or so inches of soil and replace that with new from the bag. The old soil isn't wasted but goes to containers I use for "Summer Sowing" which is the warm weather version of Winter Sowing. 'I already have 2 bags of Black Kow Composted manure. Can I mix it with potting soil when I replant them?' No. Don't. I don't like using composted manure in any container. It may not be sterile, it may have weed seeds, and it may be too strong in strength to add--you can't just add it in willy-nilly without knowing its potency. I would check with the SCM forum for their advice if there aren't any suggestions on the product bag. I use composted manure when I'm amending soil in the ground. You said you would like to make some beds in the ground, the composted manure mixed with bagged garden soil will do a lot to quickly get the bed soil amended, but do also add in a lot of fresh greens (I like grass clippings). Bloom booster fertilizers are high phosphorus formulas based on the myth that more phosphorus = more blooms. This stems from the fact that phosphorus is used in the production of flowers. But just like consuming massive amounts of calcium will not make a person's bones grow such that they become 10' tall giants, feeding a plant excessive phosphorus will not make it flower beyond its genetic potential. All purpose formulas provide plenty (oftentimes still excessive) amounts of phosphorus. There is never a need for bloom booster formulas. The reason fertilizer manufacturers make them is because there is a demand from misinformed users, and the additional formula probably helps them sell more bottles as well. They're just reinforcing the myth, but I can't say that I blame them too much, since refusing to sell bloom boosters would hurt their business by driving customers towards other brands. It's a vicious cycle. -Chris
