That's it, that's all. 14 of the plants on that list were added just this month! >_I have a few seeds I'm waiting on too though. Fuschia, Cactus, Salpiglossis, Strelitzia, Passiflora, Musa, Dracaena (forget exactly what it is), Lithops and a Succulent.

Like CB the easiest plants for me are the ones that can dry out but also I need ones that can tolerate my limey water. Cacti aren't the best because of the low light situation I have here all winter. I have to not water them at all all winter, which is long here, and if I do start watering them before the days get long, then they stretch and look not so hot. But I have a few anyway. Also it can be pretty cold here in my wood heated house in the winter, and hot sometimes in my non air conditioned house in the summer. That said, I can grow African violets pretty easily, although they will take a bloom hiatus in the summer. Also lipstick does okay, although it tends to decline over time. Hoyas are great, and haworthia. I have a lot of Xmas, TC's Easter cacti, and they do okay. Also Oxalis. I have four kinds, and they are one of the most carefree blooming plants.

Haha a repotting party actually sounds like fun to me! I'm on the opposite end of things - I LOVE repotting plants. I love mixing the medium, getting my hands dirty, doing heavy pruning, even sterilizing pots. It makes me feel so in touch with the plants, like I'm really giving them some one on one time. I chatter non-stop while I'm doing it. As for houseplants, I have about as many gesneriads as I do hoyas, so around 100 of each. These poor things have been much neglected since my hoya obsession started, but I am particularly fond of chirita, petrocosmea, and episcia. I have specimens of aeschynanthus, codonantha, columnea, nematanthus, alsobia, kohleria. Of course I also have standard violets, miniature violets and trailing violets (my favorite since I don't have to groom them as much). I have 10 or 12 streptocarpus and 4 or 5 begonias. I have some charming miniature house plants and some less exciting but very loyal standard house plants that have been with me since before I became a hobbyist. I have a small assortment of cacti and succulents. I have three "rescued" orchids (although I'm such an orchid nincompoop that I don't know that it was much of a rescue). I have a dwarf Meyer lemon tree. And of course "Easter" and "Christmas" cacti from my grandmother.

Marti, I agree that one of the problems is having to rake and clean up the area after it freezes back in winter. But what really made me remove it was that it grew over the walk so quickly after trimming. I was looking for a picture that I took of Purple heart hanging over a wall at the S.A. Zoo, but instead found this one of where I had it planted. It really looks great in combination with lime green plants. That's a coleus in the pot and a Margarita sweet potato vine in the background. At first it did get water from the run-off in watering the plants in the pots, but later when I didn't replace those plants it grew like crazy even without extra water. Well, there is something positive to be said for that ability in these dry years we're having.
