You know you're addicted when...

1)you smell like curing concrete..all the time

2)you have to sneak away to your workspace to play in the mud

3)you haunt the Internet,looking for concrete recipes..and ignore the food ones

4)you feel sorrow when you see a spilled bag of cement

5)you feel sad when your bag of cement gets too old to use

6)you talk to your projects("cure,damn it!")and ignore the pleas of your family to come out and talk to them

AND..

7)you have a goofy grin on your face when a piece comes out right..again,much to the dismay of you poor,abandoned family.

8) when you keep a notepad by the bed to write down ideas that come to you as you drift off to sleep.:)

9) Whenever you pass a yard sale or thrift shop you simply MUST stop and look for tufa molds, and when your SO loses track of you in a departmnt store, they know to look in the plastic ware aisle....

you are addicted when you: knew the meaning of these words: Eclose, ELF, chrysalis, molting, Instar, OE, host/nectar plants, frass......Lol for me? googling the entire neighborhood for homes with host plants in their yards, frequent trips to home depot, lowe's, walmart, and when I go, my other half says, "going to walmart again?", my 3 year old son say", mommy where is that big a$# daddy caterpillar?", he is the only kid in the neighborhood who gets to hold a monarch caterpillar on a daily basis, the only little 3 year old who lets go a gulf frits, a monarch butterfly every week:-). and probably am the only person in my work place who rush home from an evening shift just to make sure the caterpillars are okay and did not ran out of food....finally the only person who has more butterfly, caterpillar pictures on Facebook:-), talking about butterfly selfie !!!! have a great weekend everybody:-)

When you carry your camera everywhere to photograph plants, trees, gardens, etc. When you go for a midnight ride in your power hair to do some pruning of plants along your way that just need the trimming and need to be rooted. When you travel five hours or more away from your home to attend a plant swap. When you would rather have fresh cow manure and composted dirt for your birthday along with that five hour trip to Crawfordville and all the other nurseries in Tallahassee that you are familiar with. When you dream about your garden and plants at night When the magazines around the house are seed catalogs with highlighted things you want. When you've been sick for a year and die inside when you see the plants and cuttings other gardening friends have shared with you crispy and dead because your non gardening housemate did not tend to them properly and you threatened to kick him out but punish him by forcing him to pull the year worth of weeds and air potato vines. The joy you feel when you see a little life in a plant and the pride when you nurse it back to good health.

Blue Palm - what about using a concrete saw and cutting out a few areas in the corners or other "strategic" unused spots in the parking lot, if there is one??? I did that on the side of my house when I wanted to put in a little garden that was just concrete before..... The addiction is hard to shake for sure - as M Kush says, maybe some in pots - hey what about those GIANT concrete pots I've seen around some commercial buildings? Too big and heavy to steal, and you wouldn't have to shuffle them inside and out? Of course, the neighbors and other critters my discover the fruit, so if you do go this way, plant some that only ripen green (as I was told when I planted one in front of my house near the side walk..... ...and don't forget to work the 12 steps!!!!! lol.....mangoflea

When you're determined to visit every nursery around your area When you have to find a nursery while on vacation; and always end up bringing one home When your family tells you that you need to stop buying plants... You sigh when ever you see a big cement truck go by, or the tractor trailor that says "CRETE" on the side. (I wonder what is up with that?)

I second, third and fourth all of the above, and add one of my own. You know you're addicted to 'tufa' when you work in a thrift store 2 days a week and worry about that perfect tool or mold you may miss out on the rest of the week.

You just dry your hair in the barn because that is where the hair dryer is (used for unmolding tufa), and when your DH asks why, you say 'it's just easier to leave the hairdryer out here..."

Yes, this happened this morning. DH gave me a look and quickly departed for work.
