Stunted Watermelon?

I am trying my hand at Crimson Sweet watermelons this year. Things have been going well for the most part. I hand pollinated (had problems before) and ended up with some nice fruits.
I had a few begin and then abort at golfball size. My guess is incomplete pollination? There was no blossom end rot...they just shriveled.

Anyway, I am perplexed by one of the melons. It grew very well until it became about 8" diameter, and has seemingly stopped growing any larger. It is not withering and looks healthy, as do all of the vines in the garden. All of the other melons have passed this one up and are about 3 times the size of this one. It didn't even reach the size where it becomes more oval-shaped.

Any thoughts? Is it typical to have a 'runt'?
