You might want to try the tomato forum or the vegetable gardening forum. Lots of people who grow tomatoes will know how to grow ground cherries.

Never tried this type, but last year I grew a single tomatillo plant, which is just a large groundcherry selected for eating (in salsas) while still green. The plant was zero maintenance, and flowered profusely all summer, but bore no fruit, apparently they require cross pollination. This is not something usually listed on the seed packet, since the assumption must be that a person will grow more than one plant! But actually, according to every source I have read, this whole genus is very easy to grow -- in fact they are common weeds throughout much of the Americas (probably one or two species even native to Michigan). To make a long story short, and as Carolync1 said, if you treat them like tomatoes and peppers (same family after all) they should be a breeze. Enjoy!

Tomatillos come up as volulteers all over our garden every spring. This year, I want to plant the "Gigante" variety, and will cause consternation among our Mexican friends for hoeing up the volunteers. Ground cherries may volunteer in some gardens, too. Thank you for the information. I have 10 of these plants started because I didn't know how they would germinate. My problem is that I only have space for 2 LOL.

From Fabaceae Native's comments, it might be good to make sure you have at least two plants. They don't strike me as a type of plant which would be too picky about spacing. so you might try going for three plants, just to have a spare. Give the rest of the seedlings to friends.
