Acid instead of vinegar for de-liming hypertufa

andromonoecious

Does anyone have experience in using acid solutions to de-lime hypertufa? Vinegar tends to be expensive and space-consuming (at least, when working with numerous concurrent projects) and I am hoping to reduce both by using dilute acid solutions to reduce pH. I would greatly appreciate input from experienced (or otherwise) hypertufaphiles regarding concentration, time, etc. when using acid solutions to modify the pH of hypertufa objects.
