I have had good results with Neem spray. I think it's considered organic although it will affect the beneficial insects, too, if they are present when you spray.

Anyone have any opinions on rotenone versus pyrethrins?

I've used the neem derived Bon-neem and it is effective at controlling the beetles. Row covers are usually effective only if they are put in place before the flea beetle arrive.

Yeah plus they have to be well secured around the base of the plant to to keep the FB out.

But keep in mind that flea beetles aren't generally considered a serious pest when it come to established plants (young seedlings are a different matter). The damage they do is more of an appearance issue and poses no real threat to the plants. Most established plants have no problem coping with the damage done by flea beetles.

Yeah I'm not worried about the damage destroying the plant- just damage making the greens less marketable. Seems like Neem is the way to go...
