Comments (12)Another quick question for you kind folks. Can I "lift" this plant and expose some more of the roots at the bottom? It was planted with about an inch or so of roots showing. I think they look pretty neat and just wanted to know if I would be harming anything by doing this. Oh and any advice on general care? Anything special they like? Soil type, special needs, etc, etc, etc? Again. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! John...See MoreWhat kind of Dracaena is this?
Comments (10)One year later, your plant looks terrific; very happy & healthy. And with leaves all the way to the bottom! I love the Dracaena Reflexa. It has such a tropical look to it!...See MoreAm I Killing My Dracaena?

Light intensity to the side of a window falls off pretty sharply. OPTION 3: the humidity is too low. OPTION 4: some combination of the previous three....See MoreNeed Some Suggestions

There are many beautiful elephant ears, since they do well there. How about some of the "black" ones? There really aren't any colorful shrubs that do well in shade. If you want color, you'll have to settle for some kind of ground cover with something taller in the middle, I think. The variegated oyster plant or variegated ginger would do well there around a giant elephant ear....See Moreparismocha
