Cherimoya plant in Southern California

Hi, I was looking for a Cherimoya tree (about 5 gallons) in the Orange County/Los Angeles. Haven't been able to find any nurseries that carry them. Does anyone know of a place that sells this or anyone have one that they are interested in selling? Thanks

I am pretty sure: Green Mart and Laguna Hills Nursery have a few different cherimoya trees. Call a nursery near you from the list.

I also saw them in Lowes and Home Depot.

Also roger meyer on oc has some interesting varieties.

The cutting back would be enough to prevent flowering - there are no shrubs (that aren't effectively sterile variants) that don't flower when big or old enough. Flowers not having been seen on a particular example is not an automatic indication that a suggested identification is incorrect.

Try looking at water-wise (aka 'California Friendly') plant lists. There are scores of choices, including many natives, that are suitable for any planting condition including shade and these lists have been formulated specifically to address the issues of gardening in all of CA's droughty, hot or fire-prone locations. Visiting a local nursery or independent garden center (not a box store) will also provide many, many options.

I did have spearmint in that pot years ago. that would grow tall and had bigger leaves. This one is crawling . It does smell minty! 😃

Last year I got some nice trees from Norman Beard in Santa Barbara. Call ahead to arrange a tour of his nursery. It's worth the drive out there just to see the hundreds of types of fruit trees he has growing on his property.
