Palms can be funny things, and theyre all different! Some like hot dryish conditions, and some need semni shade and humidity. Im guessing yours fits into the latter category.
But I'm a bit confused as a Parlour Palm is a Chamaedorea,fairly common whereas a Kentia Palm is a Howea, which tend to be less common and more expensive.

Take it back and see if you can get a refund. It sounds like it is dead (dying actually). Palms have only one growing point. It that tip dies, the plant cannot branch and will die. When older leaves die, the palm is usually not dying but if the younger leaves have all died then that sounds like the palm's apical meristem is dead.

The only hope is if the dead leaves were due to being moved in freezing weather, left outside in freezing air for more than a few minutes, or some other condition that just killed the more tender young leaves. This could also happen if the plant were suddenly exposed to full sun, thus burning the leaves. Inspect the tip growth. Give this a gentle tug. If all the emerging growth just pulls out, then its dead. But, don't pull it hard. It could be alive and then you could damage what's left. In any case you will have an unsightly palm for a long time--so see if you can get a refund.

I would check for pests such as mealy bug. They're white cottony patches that like hiding between leaves and stems. Since you've only had the plant 3 wks, I don't think it's your fault..Look for mites and scale while you're at it..if you find any of these pests, I'd bring back to the store you bought it ASAP and point out the pests..Toni

hi mines is well i dont know she's turning brown her tips and the knew growth is dying too i found what i think is long bug with alot of feet . she has everything she needs but i dont know what im doing wrong can someone help my son gave it to me as a gift and i dont want him to think that i didnt take care of her please help. thx

Mamanose, the bug you found could be a centipede or milipede..Was it in soil or on leaves?
Sometimes these bugs are transported in soil..I've seen them in sterilized potting mix.
If your palms leaves are browing, it's probably caused by dry air..if the palm isn't too big, bring to sink/shower and spray once a week. I'm also into daily misting, so if possible, spray once a day..
Even though I allow soil to dry a bit before watering, when you water, do so thoroughly. Soak entire rootball. But don't keep roots sitting in water.
You can also clip brown edges off leaves..leave about 1/8" of the brown on each leaf. If an entire branch is dried out, cut off the entire branch. It will NOT revive. Toni
