Water your plants, heavily, once, from overhead - as if it were raining - the bugs will all crawl to the top of your plants to avoid the water. Now you can get at them, all of 'em. Soapy water kills them when they're dropped in or you could use a spray. I don't know what to tell you about insecticide spray since I haven't used any against them. I've had one or two show up and I just stab them with a pocket knife to break their exoskeleton and they dry out. Try the water.

How fast do they multiply? FAST. The overhead watering trick works good to get the adults but it also sounds as if you might have some egg nests that are hatching unseen and several stages of instars that are quite difficult to find and see. One adult can lay a cluster of 50+ eggs. Research some photos of the eggs and instars and then do a search for them on the stems and the underside of leaves.

Egg squishing is more theraputic as you can get them 20-50 at a time instead of just one at a time. ;)

I've been squishing clusters of eggs. Boy are they hard! As for the water trick, how long do I need to water? Can I just water for a few mins to get my broccoli wet from top to bottom? How quickly do they start crawling to the tops?

BTW, I went out this morning can got another 10 to 15. Missed a few because they're now catching on to me. Some see me coming and just jump to the ground to hide. It wasn't like the just a week ago.

Looking back at my journal, late in May I wrote " stink bugs showing up". A week later I wrote " stink bugs getting worse", a week later the word was "infestation". I killed a bunch by hand. I also used a mixture of dr bonners soap, garlic barrier and water to spray them. It kills them but also caused foliage damage.

Squished about 20 today and no eggs found. It's much better then it has been for the last few days. Hopefully, they'll be less and less.
