Rapidly dying azaleawhat am I doing wrong?

I've never seen a plant die so fast: it's like time-elapse photography. I bought what was a gorgeous azalea from the grocery store several weeks ago. It was at the peak of blooming but had many buds. I repotted it and put the plant in a north window. I've watered it twice a week as instructed. But the leaves shrivel from the tips up and the buds turn brown at their base and fall off. I don't see any bugs, mould, etc. Any ideas?
