It just seems like every reference I find to Corno di Toro describes something different. Sometimes they are very sweet "bulls horn". Sometimes they are rather hot. Sometimes they are a thinner spike, sometimes thicker like a Marconi. As for "improvements" in peppers, I don't really care about a week earlier or 10% more productive, or better storage capability... I just want the better eating pepper. I suppose disease resistance is good, but I'm growing on a small scale in my backyard. The problem with looking up descriptions about the peppers, is that they all say the type is great, or are very vague. I harvested my last here today in central NC. We have freezing temperatures in effect tonight, but really, they've done about all they can do anyway this time of year in this area. I have green anaheims still on the plants that have been mature length, but still green for well over a month now. I did get a selection of smaller sweet peppers that survived the past couple weeks, but their quality and sweetness isn't at it's best. Better than nothing, though. Is it summer yet?
