have: variegated airplane plants, want:anything purple

My mother's a highschool teacher, and they decided to paint her room Barney purple to match the wing color of purple. Instead of fighting it, I decided to help her embrace it by getting a bunch of purple plants. I have purple heart, but any purple wandering jew, would LOVE some Velvet Purple, and anything else anyone has I would greatly appreciate! Can't even find those in the stores right now....

I have some other houseplants, purple heart to share, jade, pothos, Variegated Syngonium, let me know!

Not looking to trade right now, but do have a suggestion. If you can find purple shamrock (oxalis), it's super easy if you have a nice sunny window.

hey any of the foo foo dogwood are questionable in my z5 .... in my experience anyway ... the riversii beech is very slow growing very dark .... and very nice ... you know my feelings on the tricolor beech ... purple plum is nice color.. if you can ignore all its other problems .... ya know.. frankly.. your quest for a perfect year round tree is near impossible .. IMHO ...almost all trees have their glory season .. and then for one reason or another.. start declining ... i am having a hard time with your demand that it be perfect and glorious the entire season.. everything i have.. that you list.. looks ratty sooner or later ... except maybe the copper beech ... but even that tends to have a dark color that is variable by year ... your collection should be large enough now.. that you should become a little more zen in your approach .... and plant things that have a 'season' .. and when it looks ratty.. you have others plants.. with other seasons ... e.g. should i get rid of all my iris.. because they only bloom for a week or two.. and look crumby the rest of the summer.. NOT!!! ... so why would trees or shrub choice be any different ???? ken

I have Purple shamrocks, 3 different purple jews, 2 different purple varigated peppers and purple varigated swedish ivy. All bloom and would be house plants even the pepper.
Off your list I have lemon basil plants also.
I would be interested in your mothers-in-law tongue and airplane plants

I usually wait for spring on trades but a lovely idea for the purple classroom and it is beautiful, is the sweet potato vine (blacky) I mix it with the lime green one and it contrasts so beautiful with purple. The lime green sweet potato plant is called "Marguerite". The other is called "Blackie". This is the easiest plant to grow.....The more water the faster it grows. I reminds me of ivy. Look it up and I think you will agree that purple paint needs these 2 plants planted together and you can get small ones at local nursery and they really grow fast....I hope this helps. Good Luck.
