Beginner CARNIVOROUS plant seed

Super easy to grow if you use the correct media and water. Cp's need distilled, ro, or rainwater, and peatmoss with some perlite or sillica sand. They need nutrient poor so that's why they catch and eat bugs.

I'm offering Dorsera Capensis "Albino", THE easiest cp to grow (my opinion) is the cape sundew, and this is the albino form of it. I have 50 packs of 50 seeds each. Seed is SUPER tiny. You will get at least 20 plants if you do it right.

I'm also offering Venus Flytrap seeds.

In addition there is drosera dichotoma, which is really cool, but are harder to start from seed (not much) than the cape.

I also have some cactus seed.

I would like: (in this order)Cuttings are fine if you pay for shipping! Shipping to P.O. box, so take size into consideration.

Note: I recently posted another topic about much the same thing, but forgot to include venus flytrap, and I think this will get people into cp's better than the other one. Will take more thought next time.

I would love some of either just the VF seeds or both! =) I can give you several "Mother of 1000" succulent babies on trade.

Sure thing, email me to work out the details. I sent one to you. If my guess is correct, you don't know how much work VFTs are. Stick with the albino capensis. I'll send you several packs for several attempts ;-)

Please see addressing newbie and newer member issues for instructions on getting your link set up. Since you have nothing to trade at this time, you might want to look for some of the offers made by generous members who have 'excess' seeds to share. Just look for posts that say BEAP, for postage, newbie, SASBE, etc Most will then give you further instructions on sending a bubble envelope, how much return postage is needed, a return address label, your GW name, list, etc. There is more about that also in the link above. I agree, the capensis sundew is the best for beginners. Other relatively easy plants to grow are: pinguicula morarensis, drosera filiformis, and drosera binata; sorry if there are some mistakes in the spelling of names. This others are easy too, as long as you provide them enough humidity: drosera adelae, nepenthes alata, and drosera spatulata. Same rule applies for a lot of Sarracenia (pitcher plants), but you must give them lots of light or the pitchers will be pale green and the plant will eventually die. The possible exception is sarracenia purpurea. I DONÂ´T recomend venus flytraps (dionaea muscipula), because they need lots of humidity, lots of light, and over all, a WINTER DORMANCY, if you donÂ´t give them one, they will certainly die. What are some good beginner plants for a carnivorous plant [cp] terra

Probably the easiest are those that do not require any kind of a dormancy [or rest] period. Ones which instead like warm moist conditions all year round. Drosera [sundews]: some good candidates: D. capensis, & D. spathulata lowland Nepenthes: such as N. gracilis, N. ventricosa, N.ampullaria ***be forewarned that pretty much all the neps will at some point outgrow a small terr [15 gal or less] - and most rather quickly [w/in a year or two]. Pinguiculas [butterworts]: ex. P. primaflora Sarracenia [terrestrial pitcher plants] ***same problem as w/ neps Utricularia

THIS IS STILL GOING. IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO PROBABLY AS LONG AS I HAVE CARNIVOROUS PLANTS, so if you find this post in a search, don't be afraid to contact me.

I would love to try either, I have butterfly orchid seeds if you'd like them. I can also send a few assorted succulent cuttings, its up to you... just let me know! (you can also take a look at my trade list, I have more to put up but there's a lot already up there)

I would LOVE some of the Dorsera capensis "Albino" and some of the Venus Flytrap seeds.
