Have a number of trades of this beautiful plant. It is a good bee and butterfly plant and is so cheery during the hot days of summer. Make me an offer. Trades only at this point. Thanks, Ann

I don,t know what your seed are,but you sound so excited about them.I would like a few of them.How about some pumpkin tree seed.My tree is about six ft.tall With about 75 pumpkins on it .They are about the size of a golf ball.N.C.zone7

The link didn't work for me; probably because it's nearly a year old? I saw a really nice stand of compass plant a few weeks ago, and didn't have time to stop. I was going to go on a "field trip" later this week to harvest some seed; it should be mature by now. Anyone have any tips for growing compass plant from seed?

Cup Plant is a common name for Silphium perfoliatum. Rosinweed is a common name used for several Silphium species (i.e. Prairie Rosinweed, Whole-leaf Rosinweed, Rough-stem Rosinweed, Starry Rosinweed). This is a good example of the confusion that can arise from using common names. As others have said, the second plant is Silphium perfoliatum (Cup Plant). The first plant looks more like Silphium asteriscus (Starry Rosinweed), to me, because the phyllaries are not closely appressed, and some are more pointed than typical of Silphium integrifolium.
