Terrific Success with the Electric Fence on Corn

Ok so I will admit it my husband was right - the fence solved the coon and deer problem and it doesn't really look that bad at all. He got the 'tape' type wire as that way the animals can see it and don't just plow into it. He got a solar power charger so we didn't have to drag power out this far from the house. You can just see the orange charger to the far right in the first pic. He didn't fix a gate - we will have to move things around to till in the spring.

The variety is "Coon's Choice" and it has turned out fabulous! We had our first big meal yesterday and it is huge bicolor fabulously sweet ears. We are going to have a ton - we usually share it with the animals and don't end up with all that much.

He ran three tapes - the bottom ones are supposed to be for the coons and the top is for the deer. In the first pic you can see some of the other crops toward the house - basil, peppers to the right with eggplant and some zucchini and those are pumpkins to the far right amidst the marigolds. The cucumbers are on the tripod supports.
