This is not SVB, is it?

I've been having major problems in the last few years growing pumpkins and winter squash. My vines start off great and then die on me. Last year I thought the problem was the horrid SVB, so this year I've been dusting the stems with Sevin. I only dust right near where the stems come out of the ground, never near the flowers. Anyhow, last week my vines started turning yellow and dying/drying up, and it's continuing this week.

Here's a shot from last week. You can see the middle of the bed yellowing:

Here are some shots from yesterday. You can see the white Sevin dust, but the stems look thick and intact. If it was SVB, wouldn't the stems be sort of cut open and thin?

If this isn't SVB, what is it? I read in another post about cucumber beetles spreading wilt. Is that what this is? Is there any way to stop them? Organic or not. At this point, I'm not at all opposed to breaking out the chemicals.
