wanted: wanted: jewelweed pod seeds

I am a newbie gardener. i just brought home some jewelweed plants with the tiger lily looking flowers on them but they wilted REALLY bad on the drive (2 day journey - i have young children) and i fear they will not form pods.

does anyone have any jewelweed plants or know where in newark ohio i can find jewelweed growing wild so i can harvest a few pods for planting seeds in my side yard so maybe we can minimize the poison ivy itchies we get?

it works for bee stings & bug bites as well poison ivy.
it's still a little early for ripe pods, but I will have some in a few weeks.
plant it where you want it. does not transplant well (even without a 2-day trip).

Hi Janna, I see you still need to get your email link set up, especially since you didn't check the box to get the follow-up replies emailed to you. Those plants get absolutely huge. Here is mine from 2008 and it was about 8' wide and grew wider and taller later in the season before it really got out of bounds and I had to cut it back. Mine is in a microclimate and the main plant comes back each year, along with lots of seedlings.
