have: A few magnolia seeds

I have a magnolia tree in my yard that is starting to have seeds ripen. I don't know what type of magnolia it is, but it's maybe 12 feet tall and is in zone 5. I moved in too late to see the blooms.

Trades will be small amounts, maybe 5 seeds each for ? Check my exchange page for my interests or offer something interesting.

I'm going to be lifting irises and moving them this fall. They would be far more expensive to ship than seeds. Would you be willing to send the difference in postage?

i have some peony seeds
I dont know what kind of peony but the seeds should be pink and i have 2 seeds that might have come from red peonies.
would these be ok for some of your magnolia seeds?

Has anyone grown Magnolia tree from seeds? I've tried a while back and then learned seeds need to be fresh and scraped/cut on the outer shell before planting.
Willing to try again.

grannieb, they are really easy to grow if you clean the seeds well (kind of a pain) and keep them warm. I planted 20 seeds and had a 100% germination rate. A friend of mine posted good germination instructions a while back.

I have a Blush Pink Double Blossom Columbine about 20 in a pack or Black Seeded Simpson Lettuce, or Romaine, Parris Island COS Lettuce. Would you be interested in one of these for some of your magnolia seeds?

Magnolia seeds should be harvested and not allowed to dry out, cleaned of their pulp, and most require a 2-4 month cold stratification in order to germinate.
