wanted: don't have much ,but will take anything

My husband and I have just started our faimly. We had twin baby girls in March. We have just this month purchased our first home. I am really excited about starting my new gardens.

I don't have much ,but I do have a few things collected from relatives.

I have: Zinnias, Cosmos, Japanese Lanterns, Chives and Loopin seeds.

I would be willing to trade for just about anything. Perrenials are preffered.

Of course, any seeds are welcome of any sort. I would even be willing to trade seeds for any craft item that I make. Donations?- Hehehe, not a problem.

I know I can just buy some seeds, but it's just not the same.

I DID end up buying some bulbs. I couldn't help it.

Please help this new mother, wife, and homeowner start the garden of my dreams.

The song itself has been around for a while--it was a #1 dance hit in europe for months (and definitely made the rounds in the clubs in North America) and months (it's by O-Zone, a Romanian pop/dance outfit, and the song is called Dragostea Din Tei). This new thing with people singing it on their webcams for the internet is pretty hilarious, though!

Your plants generally look healthy in the photos and bugs are a normal part of gardening. They only become a concern when the damage they do is severe - yours isn't - of when there are lots of them. Your melon leaf in the first picture shows some signs of very early Downey Mildew (the yellow spots). Otherwise I wouldn't worry about the problems you have described. Splits in stems aren't caused by bugs but by inconsistent soil moisture levels. Just leave them alone and they will usually scab over. The stem base damage in your last pic is due to slugs or snails and there are organic controls for them but it doesn't seem to be hurting the plant. New gardeners too often over-react and that can lead you to doing more harm than good so developing some patience and tolerance for less than perfection goes a long way toward successful gardening. :) Dave

You know, I was on their website seeing what was available, and then I plugged the address into google maps...they are only 2 hours 44 minutes from me. So I think a trip is in order. They even have Moondance, which I need to complete a trio and I don't want to order from J&P. Now all I have to do is talk DH into it. Hopefully there is some sort of BBQ festival going on there soon. That'll do it.

No news yet... I suspect the potential employer will take his time since there are a number of 'ducks to get in a row' before the position would start and he knows my DH is happy where he is. But still!

Monica, I'll be happy to send you some seeds. Feel free to check my list and let me know what you'd like. In another month or so a lot of people (including me) will be updating their lists and will have plenty to offer you. That's a big part of the fun!

Wood side trader,
I do just about any kind of craft. Some things I am working now are: Christmas ornaments, hand painted home made soap, and glass etching. Is there anything specific you have in mind?
