Can I Grow Loquat trees in my Garden in Oklahoma zone 7a?

Annie

I am originally from Southern California. We had Loquat trees there.

I now live in central Oklahoma right where the two zones 6b/7a meet. Depending upon the year, we may experience weather from one or the other climate zone. Predominantly, it is zone 7a. (last frost @ April 1st)

I have two Loquat trees growing in containers. Have had them for several years, but always haul them into the greenhouse every fall for fear of losing them. They have never bloomed. What do I need to do to help them bloom and produce fruit?

Can I grow them in my garden here in Central Oklahoma?

Since they flower in the fall and develop fruit through the winter and ripen in May, can I ever expect fruit production?

If not, is there any hope of getting fruit from Greenhouse trees. How big should the containers be? What should I feed them?

They are beautiful trees, but would certainly like to have fruit too.

Hope someone can answer my questions.

Thanks.
