I learned my lesson about labeling. The first seed tray I started, had about 20 different types of seed in it. I had them all mapped out square by square on paper. I cut the trays up into 6 cell segments and rearranged them all after a couple of weeks (arranging the plants from highest to lowest) without physically marking all the segments. I didn't really realize my mistake until after the damage was done. They were my first real seedlings too, I had no idea what any of them were.

Leaves can get yellow from lack of iron and good organic fertilizer. Also yellow leaves are usually an indication of over watering. There are virtually hundreds of basil types, and each as its own charateristics like anise flavor, lemon, cinnamon, and many other tastes. Seeds are not always true. I planted grape tomato seeds, and ended up with cherry tomatoes and a small plum type instead. Bought brussels sprout plants at Home Depot years ago, and they ended up as being cabbage.

Joseph, that's and interesting thought. I know what platycodon is, I have 2 dwarf balloon plants. growing very strange this year too. One of them is blooming again now!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, so spelling might be off on the label. and if the rain stops tomorrow, I'll take a look and at it cross eyed and see if it looks like a bit of a diamond. Sounds like I'm gonna have to sow a couple of these seeds and see what happens. Oh, yes, pray we don't get 3 months of rain next year. Gees. last year it was one month or rain, this year it was 2 solid months of rain. Total disaster in growing season for anything beyond spring perennial and late spring perennial blooms.
