planting fruits near above ground pool

I need some advice. We have an above ground pool in our yard with a large deck surrounding it. On the south side of the deck (which at it's highest point is close to 5' tall) I am thinking about planting some grape vines to grow up the side of the deck and then planting dwarf apple trees in front of the grapes and planting stawberries beneath the trees as gound cover. This area is in the sun most of the day. I would also like to plant some blueberries elsewhere in our yard. My questions are: 1. Do you think the plantings will work. 2. Am I asking for trouble planting berries of any kind in our yard. I am afraid that birds will get into the fruit and we will have droppings in our pool. Advice?
