thanx ! tom- dispite the unusualy warm sunny weather were haveing atm im reluctant to put out my most expensive/hard to come buy succulents there in my south faceing bay window atm, just in case of a late frost.i know theyl probably survive but i rele dont want to chance it,the rest are outside in my pop up greenhouse. pots are from vic harris of erinbonsai.com his accent pots are just the right size and a verry resonable price.

Sharon that is Hakone grass or Japanese Forest Grass. I bought 4 plants of it this year. It is a very slow growing grass but when it matures it is really gorgeous. It does not get very high, rather it spreads and it is one of the few grasses that actually likes shade. Yeah I did a lot of digging this spring. I am happy about it but anxious as well. I shovel pruned so many established plants last fall and this spring so now I have large plants with babies...oh well, that is the deal with gardening, they will look much better next year. I decided to focus more on foliage and so for the remainder of this year I will be looking around for different types of great foliage plants. I love my flowers but I guess my tastes are changing at this stage of the game.

My hosta from Hallson's were still in the pip stage when they arrived a few weeks ago, so I didn't get the thrill of opening the greenery. I was thinking yesterday that I should line up my Hallson beauties and take a picture. They are all large leaved, full and healthy. bk

Looks lovely, I like your choices. If that orange daylily is a fulva species, keep an eye on it. It will take over the bed and is difficult to remove. Hope you get some good suggestions for the butterfly garden. Sherry
