WANTED Datura Inoxia seeds pods,

I dont know if the spelling is correct, but they are moon flowers, with a spiky seed pod. I have seen them and loved them, but dont know where to get the seeds. Please, if you have some, I would love them, or if you know where I can get them, please let me know. Thanks!!! Janna

I have tons of the seeds, No pods, I have the giant white, purple, Tatula, yellow, Double white and the seeds of the wild form evening fragrance. You do not have a contact info on you personal page, So PM me if you want some seeds. Gayla

So medo, you are saying then that what is pictured is a brug? I don't think so. Here is a pic of Brug pods. Here, the second one down is a pic of a mature Datura seed pod that has turned tan, and cracked open. My Datura has rounded leaves, not pointed, and the seed pods look like the one Jane posted. Jane, sorry your kind offer to share seed pods has turned into a discussion, but I didn't want anyone to have the expense of sending a box twice, when it would be better to harvest the seeds from the pod,(they make a lot more than about anyone would want or need) once they are mature and split, and just send in a regular bubble envelope.. LOL KAryn, same here. I have a datura poppin up in a pot with duranta, 1 in with a passi, and more in the beds from where I just threw down potting soil. Mine aren't doing well though, they are getting eaten..just shreds of leaves left on most of them. Something ate the bud off my single white. Here's something I am experimenting with.. My single white, and 2 others are planted relatively close to one another. 2 or 3 days ago DD cleaned her mouse habitat and I took the pine shavings and threw them down kinda as mulch over by & around those dats..nothing has been eating them since. *Knock on wood* Is it the pine? Is it the mouse poop or pee?..If this keeps up, I will be throwing the used shavings all over the beds. Maybe I'll actually get to see a Dat flower? I have to get DS to clean his tomorrow, lol. I'm having the same thing happening. My datura metel purples have had many ripe pods but my whites are still unripe. They are huge but no sign of splitting yet. If they don't ripen by our frost date I'm going to cut them off and store them in a paper bag. I don't know what else to do. Karyn

pitbullt, Do you have any pictures of your Datura inoxia? I have a few Daturas planted in my garden which I originally thought to be Datura inoxia, but I have been told that it is Datura wrightii by some knowledged people in response to an inquiry about the identity of the plants. That said, I am looking for Datura inoxia so that I can finally say for a fact that it is in my collection. Might you be interested in a trade? I have another plant, which I have always identified as Datura wrightii, which has a nice bluish color to the bloom. I am still looking for a few more seeds if anyone has some. really love these plants, and I have a really big yard to plant and fill in. I may have seeds or plants to trade, if you let me know what you want. Thanks!!

Hi Janna,

I see you still need to get your email link set up, especially since you didn't check the box to get the follow-up replies emailed to you.

Those plants get absolutely huge.

Here is mine from 2008 and it was about 8' wide and grew wider and taller later in the season before it really got out of bounds and I had to cut it back. Mine is in a microclimate and the main plant comes back each year, along with lots of seedlings.

To keep them blooming and from going to seed I dead head them. I let 1 flower go to pod for fresh seeds. They die back in winter but are easy from seed.

I think I have my page set up now, sorry. I would like to get a few more seeds if anyone has some, now my daugher and sister both want to plant some!! Thanks to everyone
