Have Wild Everglades tomato seeds

Hi, you can send me an SASE and I will send you the seeds. These tomato plants grow year round down here in Florida. The tomatoes start off small, like Tiny Tims, but as the root systems get larger, the tomatoes reach up to approximately 1 and 1/2 inches in size. These grow in the hot months down here when all other tomatoes die from the heat.

I will provide growing instructions. These plants do not suffer from any diseases. They grow very large like big bushes.

I just purchased some from the SouthernJ ranch off of craigslist. Their number is 561-312-6205. Came in just a couple of days and they are growing as I type. They are in West Palm Beach. Hope this helps.

Tru, if you search the FL forums you can find Tom's post on how he saves seed. His method is the preferred method. Me, I cut up a tomato, decide I like it. Scrape the tomato seeds and gel off the cutting mat into a coffee filter. Spread the goo around evenly. Place coffee filter someplace out of the way where it will dry out. Come back a couple weeks later and cut coffee filter into little bits and plant. My method works for seed you plan to plant soonish. Well, at least it has worked so far. It is the lazy girls way, not the best way. I have small cute everglades tomatoes and small cute mexican sour gherkins both getting ripe. I can't imagine what you are going to do with 4 plants Christine after seeing the ONE plant Tom had. Even my plant in the hanging basket is big and full of fruit. ~dianne

Hi, my first wild Everglades tomato is ripening now. Mine are only the size of a large grape, BUT MY NEIGHBOR who is using Miracle Gro for tomatoes is getting wild tomatoes six times bigger than mine. I use Mater Magic and it does push the plants but I have to start laying on the Miracle Gro. She uses the big $6 bags with the picture of tomatoes on the front. I am too ashamed to show her mine. She is growing them in large containers and in the ground. I think the Miracle Gro is the secret. BUT I will be happy with a few thousand of these fat ones even if they are only the size of a big grape. These are not grape tomatoes. These are the Everglades ones from the seeds Bill kindly sent. Soon, I will have seeds for anyone who wants them. Now you know what to fertilize them with. I hope I can still coax mine to get as big as my neighbor's but I have to run to buy several big bags. smile...And anyone who wants to see them growing is welcome to come here. I live in Hollywood. You can look over the fence and see my neighbor's large wild tomatoes. I think she has success with everything because she sings to her plants....

Be sure to put the "z" after johnmiller before 2003.
These wild tomatoes get the size of a large plum. They do not care about heat or drought. Stand back because the bushes get very large. (smile)
