Do I need to prevent my blueberry plants from fruiting?

This is my first year gardening. I have 4 blueberry plants (2 Emeralds / 2 Tifblue) that were given to me by a friend, but still in there original pots from the nursery. I planted all four a few months ago.

I've read a bunch online about growing blueberries and a reoccurring theme is the idea of removing the flowers to prevent fruit in the 1st year after planting as to increase the health of the plant and fruit yield in future years.

I think I'm too excited to wait and wanted to get the thoughts of more experienced gardeners. Do you think my plants are big enough / old enough to let them fruit this year?

Any advice appreciated! Thanks,
