Gardening Gloves?

I'm right handed so inevitably the right glove wears out faster than the left. What, if anything, can I do with the left glove? I'd appreciate any good frugal ideas to make use of these.

I just use duct tape on the worn spots on the right hand glove until the left one wears out.

Find a left-handed gardener, and trade gloves.

call your local nurserys and ask their store manager. likely some staffperson has had same problem. kids size,no? last resort, wear a pair of breathable cotton gloves as liners/fillers. best, mindy my fav gloves have ribbed cotton (constricts at your wrists) w/ latex rubber palms and fingers.

Yikes, everyone! I have goofed up! Instead of saying this: "The gloves sized ranking are for thinner smaller-boned fingers I feel. Being very petite, the gloves were exactly the perfect fit, but I can see how many might need to order a size up... " I should have written simply, "order a size up from your normal size." I am beginning to realize that few people are going to be able to wear the original size ranking but will have to increase their size requirement instead. At the time I wrote I should have admitted that I was 5'2-1/2" and 97 lbs. and that way people could assess what I meant by smaller-boned. Ugggh! My doofus error, sigh...

I use news paper, old rags and my bare hands. I am tired of ruining good gloves. I use duck tape and elmer's glue on me occasionally. I let the glue dry and pull it off, and off comes the glochids.The old magazine and rags usually too just fine. The thing is, leather is skin and needles go straight through skin. There are some cactus gloves that look like rubber gloves with a brush molded on them that work amazing , I hear. I am too cheap to splurge on them.

Now isn't this funny... just got back from Walgreens where they have Hand Master gloves. Looks like your favorite type - completly waterproof on the outside (but lets air in, says the tag... I don't see how, but you like them so they must!). In bright 2-toned colors and S, M, or L. I might stop back and try a pair... only $3 I think. They also had 2 pair for total $2, of the canvas type with rubber bumps on the hands & fingers "inside"... but only in one too-snug-for-me size.

Have you tried turning them inside out? The right becomes left, and left right. I often use the duct tape as well. Another trick is to duct tape your bare finger/s that are exposed with the hole/s. Oftentimes, depending on the task, I wear Costco nitrile gloves under cloth gloves. The cloth outer gloves seem to last longer, and the loose soil does not penetrate to skin. I reuse the nitrile gloves until they disintegrate.

If I have time, I mend/patch the holes in cloth/leather gloves with two layers, from an old glove-or even a piece of denim. This is not difficult with a half inch dowel in the finger space and using a curved 2 1/2"-3" upholstery needle. Like many here, I assume, my gloves do not always match.

If you must, you can decorate with embroidery! Have fun.
