how do I give pills to a rabbit? (for pasteurella)

First time posting on this forum -

We took care of a friend's rabbit, and found it dead yesterday morning, and today one of our rabbits was real sick.

The vet diagnosed pasteurella (bacterial respiratory infection) and got one pill down him with a mouth tube, and showed hubby how to use it - you know that's got to be easier seen than done.

We've got three more weeks of antibiotics to feed him - the vet said we could try giving it in soft food - some rabbits eat yogurt?

Any tips on giving pills? Should I be concerned about the antibiotic killing off the beneficial gut bacteria?

You can tell this is a pet rabbit - at least he looks better now than he did earlier today.

Thanks.

Lisa
