I love all ducks so it's really hard to pick out a favourite breed. Most domestic ducks are derived from Mallards so their personalities are similar. I've had several different breeds of ducks. I've found the lighter weight breeds to be more skittish but they usually become calmer when they're older. If I had to pick a favourite breed it would be Silver Appleyard ducks. They seem to have more character and are somewhat friendlier. They're large ducks and the females lay really well. I'd recommend 2-6 ducks for new owners. Of course the pen size will depend on the number of ducks you end up with but the more room they have, the fewer problems there are. The most important thing is to limit the number of males. If you have 6 ducks then no more than 2 should be male.

My condolences to the family. There's not much one can say to ease the pain of losing a loved one. But, by remembering all the good things, e.g., as it appears Michelle did a lot of good things, eventually the pain eases.

Yeah, I deffinitelly agree, it takes tremendous efford, but it's worthed. I was not so determined so me, personally I needed help from professionals, that helped me with my mindset the most, because it all comes to your mind. You need to transform your thinking and mind 1st, for me worked "subconicous diet" , it's type of diet where you don't need strong determination and after 3-4 weeks of performing actions, will transform your mindset and you will be loosing withou efford. I have asked my neurologist about this balance problem and he did not take me seriously...just passed it off and said to watch my step! I just feel so clumsy and stagger like a cheap drunk! The only med that I take with "possible dizziness" is gamapenton (?) for leg pain and neurologist did not think it was to blame. I have occasional vertigo when I lay down and turn my head. Doug, what kind of doctor might know about osteoporosis?....never heard of that, but interesting. I always hold on to the grap bars in shower etc....I just do not trust my balance to even make the 3" step or moving around. I have tried to use a cane, but it seems to make me more clumsy. I have had some blood tests but mostly for thyroid and electro lights...so do not know what else was checked. Wow, zackey, that vertigo test sounds brutal...glad they found your problem and got it corrected. Thanks for your help...so much appreciated!
