question about injecting animals

We got three pigs last week. The fellow we bought them from said they had not had shots and might need them and that we could do it ourselves by creating a chute with wood panels to catch and hold the pigs. Sure enough the next day two of the three had runny noses and crusty stuff under their eyes and never having injected anything in anyone or anything, we called the vet. He said they had "mild mycoplasma pneumonia" and gave them shots of lincomycin (sp) and left some for use to put in their water. Well the vetÂs bill was very high but given that he had to drive out here and catch, hold and inject three VERY active pigs (50 lbs each), we had no choice. But if they ever need shots again I guess we should learn to do it. Do the rest of you inject animalsÂesp. pigsÂIÂve seen a neighbor inject goats and sheep and she had no trouble. Pigs are something else. Where/how do you get the meds?
