WANTED: Hummingbird Butterfly Garden seeds wanted

Hi Group, this is my first posting, I am new to this and do not have much to trade but willing to try to make an equitable trade.
I am looking to start a hummingbird / butterfly garden and looking for seeds to get one established. I am not sure what to plant, I would like annuals that would thrive in the Rhode Island area, the area I plan on planting gets brutal sun all day long, I can probably collect some seeds from a purple and honeycomb butterfly bushes that I currently have to trade with. Any help on seeds, layout and plant choice for my goal of establishing a butterfly hummingbird garden would be appreciated

There doesn't seem to be a way to send you an email through Gardenweb. You won't get many responses because many of us don't want to put our addresses and personal information on the thread for everyone to see.
If you go to my page and send me an email with your address I'll send you some seeds. Feel free to check my list to see if there's anything specific you want. I am in Nebraska zone 4/5.We have hot summers, too. I have quite a few flowers that butterflies like and I'm as addicted to saving seeds as I am to growing flowers. I'm not looking for a trade--I have more than enough seeds. Love to share with others.

Right now in my garden (starting 2 days ago)I have seed 2 Red Admirals, 1 Painted Lady, 1 Monarch, at least 50 Grass Skippers, 15-20 Long-Tailed Skippers, 1 Pipevine Swallowtail, 4 Southern Dogfaces, 2 Great Southern Whites, 1 White Peacock, 3 Large Orange Sulphurs, and I think 1 Yellow Angled Sulphur! With a lot of Milkweeds can you imagine all the butterflies I would see!? I have an acre backyard. I am also looking for Passifloras and Pipevines too.

Jean - I hope you meant the 25th (the Wake Forest market is only on Saturdays). Lets aim for Saturday Sept 1st. This next weekend is a big grilling festival at the market and I need to haul as many sellable plants as possible to make up for the lackluster sales these past couple of hot and dry marketdays. I will also go through all my various stashes of plants to find more goodies by Fall Swap. And next spring I should have even more after sowing seeds all winter. I have Rue. But the caterpillars on it are eating it down to the nub so I doubt I will get seeds. I plan on finding some seed somewhere and growing a bunch of it, so at some point I will have some available. I do have some parsley potted up and some Agastache (Hyssop). If you find any of the annual butterfly weed (Asclepias currasavica)(sp?), I have been able to over winter the roots and got bigger plants the next spring. I simply dig them up after first frost and pot them up and store them out of the way. They are easy from seed also. Pentas are a great nectar plant and they are easy from cuttings but they won't overwinter outside. Good luck

I have lions tail ,and salvia .hummingbirds love these send me an email if you want to trade .

One of the best things I have found for a butterfly garden is the Butterfly Weed. I have some of these seeds if you would like them. They attract the Monarch butterfly. The butterfly lays the seeds on the plant and then the catterpillars hatch out, eat on the leaves of the plant and then crawl somewhere and make a cocoon. Later on the beautiful Monarch butterfly hatches! The flowers are very pretty also. They are orangish and red.
