Names are pretty personal. When we got our first chickens, we had five of them and they laid every day without fail. I was so happy that they were laying when other peoples chickens were not, so I though the name: 5 Egg Farm would be just perfect. The are many names to choose from like: Oak Hill Farm, Rustling Stream Farm, Fair Weather Farm, Peacerful Acres But I think you would find these names in a lot of locations. I had a place I called Riversbend.. thought it was pretty original....Not so! There a many, many of them. So I would suggest you find something a little more personal like: Happy Chicks Happy Hooves Name after your favoite animal. I really, really like my rooster Charlie, so something like, "Charlie's Roost" would work for me. Maybe a name discribing a building. Not Red Barn Farm.. too common, but perhaps Tin Roof, or Green Door or Crooked Path. What does you and your families most loved part of your place? A view, a feeling, a flower, perhaps the weather...Try that. Which ever name you choose, please be sure to come back and let us all know.

I've actually talked with some seed companies about this for a project I was working on, and they (at least the ones I talked to) don't go to much trouble to verify the purity of the species of the trees that their seeds come from. I got the impression that they left it mostly up to the people that actually collected and sold them the seed to identify and verify the source. The companies probably aren't going to tell you who they got the seed from, so basically (at least with most oaks) it's just one big roll of the dice.

Breenthumb - we used to get those calls too. You are right, they never even tried to tell us they could beat the cost for coverage. My only isse with them is that they wouldn't sell coverage for our DS and DILs house. They bought it in 05, the year after the 4 hurricanes came through central Florida within a month or so of each other. With so many retired military in this area, they stopped new policies on homeowners. We were shocked to hear this but so many insurance companies did the same thing. Anyone who is former military or a dependent of a military can get coverage. Not sure how it works if parent did not have their insurance but its worth checking. Customer service is exemplary!

(It is amazing how many listings are cluttered with awful photos and incredibly bad grammar. But maybe the bad grammar is a marketing gimmick designed to connect to just the 'right' buyer?!) I think it has to do with them not having to do much when the market was better. I still have the blurb from our sold house, it was written with help from posters here. I can tell you that we were able to fit about 4 or 5 sentences, maybe more. There's no reason to abbreviate as some do. When I need to find a property in Columbus, Ohio, however, I have had a very difficult time finding a good RE search engine (that I don't have to 'log into')or an MLS search that is complete. This lack of an important tool has kept me from looking into those listings, which is too bad. This is why I mentioned realtor.com. If I was moving, it is where I would start my search. For my state, it had everything. From there, I signed up at all of the major sites, Remax, Century 21, Prudential Fox & Roach, Exit Realty (big here in NJ), Caldwell Banker. I then did my search at every site. Maybe someone else can explain it better then I can but it seemed that every site subscribed to something different to get houses to show on their site. My 1st agent said she was allowed 7 of these key things (or what ever they were) to pull from. She said it was why she had 2 sites as one pulled from the other key things. I wish I remembered more, but this was true of the sites I used other then realtor.com. Now, if I found a house from one of my email updates, I was able to go to my favorite of all of them, throw the MLS number in and find it that way, but normally it wouldn't have come up on my search using that site. Exit realty for some reason seemed to send the most houses in emails. You have to find what works for you as a buyer. As a seller, you do the best you can using what you are given to work with. I'd asked one agent to send me a list of her listings because I wanted to see how many of the search engines I used her listings would show on. I wanted to be sure our house was going to be out there. One agent I interviewed said they advertise on over 30 sites online. I also would look at their "about me" page on the company web site. I couldn't believe how many agents don't even fill them out. Usually you can find a link for view my listings, I've gone as far as googling the MLS number to see what pops up.
