really need help with cold weather veggies!

I am basically wondering if because of where I'm at I can plant cool weather veggies throughout the summer and still get good tasting veggies, or if I should just wait till late summer and do a fall harvest.

I live in the northern part of the lower peninsula in MI.

I'd be direct sowing at about this time (Mid-May) and I'd get a harvest in early July; NOTE: I am NOT planting seeds in mid-late July to get a fall harvest, I'd like to grow cool weather stuff until I plant for a fall harvest.

The veggies I have in mind are radicchio collards kale cauliflower broccoli and cabbage (red Chinese and green)

I know it's recommended to do from transplants for spring harvest but I've tried this and it doesn't work for me.
