bump

Hello... I am long overdue to start creating a garden workspace and organizing all my garden junk. I thought I would resurrect this old post and see if anyone had any more to add to it. I could start a new thread if that is a better idea? So....I have too much junk scattered all over the place..the basement, the garage, seeds in my bedroom...lol. I am sure you get the picture and perhaps there is someone else out there who has the same problem. I just don't know where to start, it is a little overwhelming. What gives me the most trouble? Large containers 22" and where to put them for the winter. Large bags of potting soil or soil amendments....storing and having easy access to them. POTS! Having tools handy when out in the garden without making 10 trips to the garage for something I forgot, yet not dragging everything around with me. Leftover materials from past projects...a pile of broken pavers, a small pile each of stonedust and pea gravel. The COMPOST BINS! I need to get them out of sight. We have a small yard. I was hoping to create an area where I had everything garden related so it is not in a number of different places. My problem is the only area available is on the side of my garage but the main entrance to the backyard from the front is there and you would have to pass through my 'workarea' to get to it. I really love a pretty organized, neat area anyway....I am just not coming up with creative ideas for what I have to work with to make it that way. If someone has had similar issues that they have resolved successfully, I would love to hear about how you did it. diggerdee, well it wasn't so fun with that cart, but I could kind of picture it in my mind, would make a good skit but it really wasn't funny, seems a bit now. Purple. Ah yes, I go for blue and get purple. Sometimes I really want purple. I'm finding that I'm mixing colors I didn't used to like together. I'm developing a passion for bearded iris. As if that isn't bad enough, I read a thread over on the iris forum where this person had splurged on Siberians. That makes me have to have some, so I write and ask a couple questions. The ones, wouldn't you know are frightfully expensive, so I might splurge and just get two of each kind I like the best, then if they die on me, I'll be totally bummed out. But I could die on them lol. I haven't tried your k word or scabiosa yet, glad you are enlarging your pallet of colors. I think I need an apricot iris, just love that color. That's enough chatter for now, see it's 1 am, son said he'd come and help spray tomorrow, and if he comes in the morning I won't be awake. I don't dare turn him loose spraying without following him around with something to shield or cover plants with. But I appreciate it when he offers to help.

Thank you kindly for all the suggestions. I will upload the area when finished and look forward to the plantings planted within over the next couple of years. I am putting up a 4 plank wood fence off the pergola/gazebo using the flooring from the deck and will be transplanting Albertine to grow along it. Possibly a rooted cutting of Crepuscule or Autumn Sunset with the clematis Emilia Plater to intertwine the yellow/apricot of choice rose. A few Albas will be placed in this area as well. I, too, like the look of raw weather wood and there is a segment in my yard that reveals this. This structure I am working with now is using the old floor planking from the old deck which I disassembled and making a wooden walkway within the planting area with it as well. White looks lovely when freshly painted and I have painted this structure throughout the years with white to freshen it up, but it sure is not a color that likes to stay pretty; green mold, dirt, etc. Since it is not raw wood, the option to let it weather is out, thus my thinking to paint it. I have some ideas, and just came to you all for your thoughts. Love the 'Verey blue' Mariannese. I have a couple of wooden obelisks that I painted that color in the gardens.
