To transplant or not to transplant?

I have already smacked my own hand. I put three California Wonder pepper plants into a big container so they could get started, intending to move 2 of them later.

Now it's later (much later), but they look so happy and all have blooms and baby peppers. There are 3 of them in this container which is 15" high and 21" in diameter.

I thought maybe I would remove 1 of them and leave the other 2 alone, but I am afraid to disrupt the roots and possibly kill the plant(s). I realize peppers don't like to be moved.

Advice? Leave them as is or remove one or two?
