Question regarding sorrel???

I bought lots of red sorrel ( for soup) at Lowes 2 summers ago for 25cents each...guess nobody knew what it was. It was beautiful a couple weeks ago, but now it looks cooked and wilted. It is not dry, but looking so sad. Is one supposed to cut it back in Spring?
