Kat, check out your Park Seed catalogs (or website) or Stokes, I know for sure they have them, and there are other companies as well. I have a photo posted on Crazy Gardeners post "New for 2006" of the Coral Magellan Zinnias. They get about 14 inches high and should be spaced about 12 inches apart. I will spread mine out more like 16 inches apart this year, as mine last year were seriously overlapping each other. They looked amazing all season, but I did get mildew in September that destroyed them compeletely by October. I was fine with that, it happened just as we expected our first frost. However those last couple weeks they looked a bit rough. It isnt a very good cutting zinnia, but I never wanted to cut them at all, they make such a perfect "shrub"! The blooms are the size of your hand, they retain their color for about three months before beginning to fade. I never had to deadhead until about 16 weeks after planted out. I would recommend one thing though, and that is that you pinch the plants when you plant them out to get them nice and bushy. A friend had planted some of these and did not pinch and her plants kept trying to grow upwards with smaller, less number of blooms, and looked pitiful. None of my zinnias "split" from being too heavy, and I credit that to having been pinched when young. Okay, this post is about Profusions and here I am talking about Magellans! I dont know which one I liked more last year!

OK, thanks! I went ahead and ordered seeds for both, and I'll probably try to tuck in profusions on the sides of the boxes so they have more space to mound. I'll stick the others in front so they can trail.

Know what? I never care what color any of my zinnias are because I think any color is gorgeous. They are just gorgeous flowers and especially the profusions - there are so many in a mound. The yellow, however, was a complete surprise and it was next to a plumbago shrub, so it was a happy surprise. Carrie
