Comments (4)I tend to plant kinda late, and mulch heavy, i don't get a lotta beetles like my more energetic Amish neighbors do...i can count on seeing them out there with their Sevin powder about the time i feel envious of their luxurious stands of potato foliage...i don't mess with potato bugs, they don't eat the potatoes, and don't really seem to affect the yield...in my humble opinion....See MorePotato Beetles in Maine / When to Spray
Comments (1)If they show up, it is usually by mid/end of June. I'd say if your leaves aren't completely eaten up by now, you're safe. This was growing up on our farm on Eastern Long Island. Since the potato business is vanishing from LI the last decade the number of Colorado Potato beetle have diminished. Since I moved to KY 10 years ago I have not seen one of these pests since. We once spent 8 hours plucking beetles off 300 or so eggplant plants. I know it not the most lucrative way to remove the pests, but it saved our crop more than once....See Morewasabi_VA
