Sase basics....if you are requesting seeds from an SASE

I just wanted to ask please, if you are responding to someone's kind offer for sase. If you are lucky enough to be in the chosen 5, or 10, or whatever that limit is that the giver has set....follow through with your stamp, bubble envie, whatever is needed, OR, let that person know you have changed your mind and no longer want the seeds.

By taking that spot in the 5, or 10, somebody else was left out. It's not fair to the other people who would like those seeds.

I also always ask people to send me a note reminding me what it's for, and it never fails somebody won't.

Also when you receive your seeds, wouldn't it be nice to drop the sender a little note to let them know you did, and possibly send a little thank you in that email also ?

I just wanted to add to this one, I know we've got lots of newbies joining every day, it seems. When responding to a SASBE, also include your GW ID in your note regarding what you're requesting. It helps many of us that keep trade/SASBE logs to find you easier. I know mine are set up with the GW ID, that way I can consult my log and any notes I've added, such as what I have that you might be interested in as extras (another reason to have a trade list up, cause that's where I check for extras!).

Another tip is to take your envelope and put a strip of packing tape over where the addresses and the stamps go before addressing or putting the stamps on. This helps re-enforce those areas so that we can more easily put the return info and stamps on it. And seal it with a strip of packing tape rather than using the sticky seal on the envelope. Doing those things makes it much easier to reuse the envelopes for the return trip :)And sending a stick on address label for you is a big help too. Keep in mind many who offer a SASBE are doing several at once, so anything that saves us time is a repayment of the kindness of the offer.

Another thing, along with emailing to let them know you received the seeds is to give them a review in the Rate and Review forum, I'll add that link below. It makes a nice thank you and adds to the trader's reputation for future trades. I tend to add a review for those that I've done SASBEs for if they've been prompt, included a note with their GW ID and had the postage and return mail address label. That way others can check that and know you're someone they'd enjoy trading with :)

I have replied to a lot of SASBE's, I have not offered any yet, but this is how I see it, you that are offer SASBE's are doing the rest of us a HUGE favor by sharing your seeds, if you reply to the thread, you should honor that and not make people wait for your bubble mailer, I understand things can happen and what not, but at least do the people good and e-mail them to let them know what is going on! It is almost rude not too, wait a sec, it is rude! My computer went down on me during a ice storm, while I was in the middle of recieving some seeds, I hand wrote letters letting them know I got my seeds, it didn't hurt my hand any, and it was only a stamp, a lot less time then it took everyone to gather the seeds and clean them and package them, I keep hearing this about people not following through and I am just dumbfounded at why someone would ask for them and not follow through! ok, i'm crazy or weird anyhow!! so i'll put my 2 cents in,

don't forget to put your list in there, just incase they forget, it actually happens!!! LOL

but i like to put my addy on the front and put their addy on a stick it note or something, then tape it over mine, then they can just go ahead and pull theirs off. since everyone just reuses the dang envi's all the time anyhows. LOL most generally mine is the one someone has sent me, so it already has mine on it. so i just slap theirs over it. (i have tons of envi's here!! LOL) see now ya have a bunch of info!! LOL and if ya have a good connection with a person, it don't hurt to send them maybe something on their want list, if ya have that, i've done that, ya know just a "few" seeds. i'm not talking a whole trade, i'm talking like 5-6. it shows your appreciation for what they are doing. but that's my opinion. :')) happy sasbing!! LOL

I have a wedding I am doing flowers for and am a brides maid,so after all of that is over I will be back on newbie patrol! In the meantime,my inbox is always open to newbies that need a little help learning how to trade! ;)

I can attest to that! She sent me a HUGE SASBE right after I signed up! She did it! It's her fault! I'm a seed addict and she was my source! Her and Michele and Kym and Carol and ..and... and, well... just about everyone else here! :P~
