HI Nova, got your mail but I've been swamped too. I can't mail before next Th or Fri and considering the PO system maybe I should mail on Sat. Saturday packages often arrive Mon or Tues. My begonias are now rooting though if I make too many trades... I may need to root more or mail unrooted cuttings. The canes root pretty easily. Almost as easy as coleus and impatiens. So If you have been doing OK with them it will work. Michelle, are you still in on this?? I sent you an email but have not heard back. I'll check my junk mail bin , but maybe like the rest of us you are just extra busy. With Michelle... it would be 4 and I can send to that many OK. BB

i like the idea of your plan ... but i think growing in water only will be making it much harder than need be ... root them.. pot them ... and just keep starting new ones.. as they etoliate .... all winter long ... until its a 4 to 6 weeks before they can go back outdoors .. and then start good version to go outside ... in essence ... they are not aquatics.. so the water alone system.. might just be making something easy.. hard ... i would also create duplicates.. asap ... and not rely on trying to save one single specimen ... in one water glass ... odds of failure are just to high ... spread your risk ... ken

Do you always bring the plants inside for the winter? Do they do well for you? (Just curious) Your coleus and hibiscus are very cold sensitive, resenting temperatures that approach 50F. I have already taken cuttings from my coleus, as here in northern Alabama the nights have dropped into the 40Fs. They are sitting happily in my sunniest windows right now! I don't know about the SPVine, I would consider it disposable myself. Don't they and the hibiscus erupt in whiteflies, aphids, and spider mites inside? I don't bring my showy containers inside for the winter. I used to store caladium corms (dry, cool, dark) but they never returned to anywhere near the quality of the first year. Better get organized, lol! That'll teach you to rely on the calender for weather related routines!
