Toni, a lot of people do that, leave it without soil. It has to be mature enough and can then flower. But it's like not feeding you for a few days and then sending you out doing hard manual labour still without food. Amorphs are heavy feeders and need it to grow healthy and fast. The more they feed the larger the tuber they produce, which in turn will produce a larger leaf. It gets to the point when it has enough reserves to include flowering into its cycle. Starving yours has set it back a long way and it'll take time to recover, let alone flower. The only reason they're left out of soil is for the "OH WOW!" factor, but it's killing the plant. If you have it stored unpotted, you need to pot it up as soon as it starts to show signs of growth. Feed it well through the season. It will flower once it's back to a healthy state.

Hi, I love konjac. The size you have = nickel to a quarter in size will produce a mini version of the adult sized plant. Expect a tree like shape this summer no taller than a foot. I have had them in full sun and no added water other than rain here in zone 5 IL. This fall the tree shape will get hit by frost and you will dig it up. The bulb will be bigger- golf ball or so size. I leave mine as bare bulbs in the basement ( no dirt- just on a shelf) some folks pot them I don't. Next year same thing- when it is baseball size- to softball size it will bloom. Check in March as that's when mine sprout the bud. You'll notice when you dig it up in the fall at this softball size that it has root like structures with pink tips. These are baby bulbs. That is what yours were last year. There is a chance that you stressed the plant too much and it's going into early dormancy. I've had that with other Amorphs, they seem to give up and decide to wait until next season. You could pull some of the soil away to see if the tuber is okay. Make sure there's no sign of rot and the soil's not too wet.
