Brand new raised bed - ??'s on prepping ground for weed control

It's been years since I've posted on any of these boards. I'm an experienced (flower) gardener and am finally venturing into my own vegetable garden, as well as a compost, this year. Yay! I prefer organic methods.

So basically what I now have is an 8x10' raised bed made out of cedar, basically a wooden box about 1.5' tall. And a 6' high buried wall of chicken wire surrounding it on posts to keep my many animals out (deer, squirrels, rabbits, you name it.)

I have yet to dump any soil into the cedar box yet, and that's where I have questions: I want to kill the weeds/remaining grass on the ground before I put any soil into the raised bed (underneath is a mixture of clay/mulch/grass). Obviously I don't want to use a chemical product (and I'm 90% sure there is no bermuda grass here, but not positive. Bermuda grass is the only thing that I have failed to treat organically, and must resort to chemicals :-( ).

How would you prep the ground, considering I have a clean slate? Newspaper? Vinegar?

Wanted to get your thoughts and any advice as I start out. Thanks!
